This popular cottage accommodates 6+2 guests, situated in the serene Ruka Salmilampi area, close to Ruka’s many amenities. Designed for both active vacations and relaxation, unless otherwise requested, the spacious layout ensures everyone feels right at home. The lower level features a separate bedroom with a luxurious Hästens bed (180x210cm), complemented by ample storage space. Upstairs, you will find four additional beds, two of which can be combined into a cozy double bed. The open, airy loft design not only provides a comfortable sleeping area for adults but also an engaging play and leisure space for children. Moreover, extra bedding can be provided upon request for two lighter sleepers.

One of the highlights of the cottage is the generous sauna area, complete with a shower and changing room, offering a perfect escape after a day filled with activities. A dedicated entryway ensures that your gear and footwear are neatly organized, perfect for larger groups. The bright and spacious kitchen-living area boasts stunning views of Salmilampi and its surrounding wetlands through its large windows, with an elegant, heat-retaining fireplace as the centerpiece. In summer, unwind on the expansive terrace as you sip your morning coffee and watch the vibrant local birdlife.

After a day of exploration, enjoy the soothing warmth of the wood-heated sauna and indulge in the convenience of the wood-fired Kiramin Comfort hot tub. The hygienic composite design of the tub heats quickly, allowing you to spend more time relaxing under the shimmering Northern Lights or during the magical nights when the sun never sets. The hot tub is available for your use year-round, a special treat for every season.

For those evenings when the weather turns, the backyard features a cozy hut, perfect for cooking and gathering together. Equipped with a coffee kettle, cast iron pan, smoker box, and grilling tools, you can savor local flavors while experiencing the authentic Northern atmosphere around a crackling fire.

Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, Kuukkelisalmi offers unparalleled amenities, including two fat bikes for thrilling summer rides on Ruka’s extensive hiking and biking trails. In winter, the popular Alakylä ski trail runs right past the cottage, with direct access from the yard to the nearby snowmobile trails around Ruka. An attached carport provides a spacious storage area for maintaining ski gear, with facilities for waxing and tuning, as well as room for sleds and other recreational equipment.

For those traveling in electric vehicles, a Webasto Pure II charging station is available for a small fee. Just a short ride away, you’ll find the Ruka ski resort merely 4 kilometers from your door. We welcome well-behaved dogs, but please note that cats are not permitted.
